Big Table Farm
Wild Bee Chardonnay
Big Table Farm Wild Bee Chardonnay
Clean as can bee
Close your eyes and this could be, well, something else, but certainly not a typical Chardonnay. It’s kissed with sunlight, crisp with dew, and clean as can bee 😉. Like key lime pie with a nutty graham cracker crust, and a Maldon salt crunch. Scented like jasmine and white rose petals in the evening when it just starts to get cool. This gorgeous wine is made by an even more inspired couple, winemaker, Brian Marcy, and artist and farmer, Clare Carver.
Delicious With
Great with fresh cheeses like chèvre or feta, homemade salad dressings with tons of lemon and good olive oil, sweet and sour sauces or soups, and young vegetables like zucchini, pattypan squash, butter lettuce, or radishes. Delish with garlicky grilled shrimp and tons of lemon. The bright intensity of the wine will match any tart, fresh flavors, and balance anything creamy.
Their Cred
Big Table Farm is the collaborative effort of Brian Marcy and Clare Carver, the hearts behind Big Table Farm. In 1996 Brian worked his first harvest. Having studied fermentation science at Davis, he took to the process of winemaking easily and loved it. Brian lived and worked in Napa and Sonoma for 10 years before he and Clare made the leap to Oregon.
In addition to partnering with Brian to market the wine and manage their 70 acres, Clare is also a painter and wine label designer. Her fine art speaks for itself and you can check it out at www.clarecarver.com. Clare’s first passion is her painting, but she finds great joy in caring for all the animals on the farm and working with her draft horses.
